The Olympic City of Beijing will be host to the bridge elite from 3rd – 18^th October 2008 for the World Bridge Games which follow the tremendous success of the Beijing Olympic Games and the Paralympics.

We are very pleased to note that we have succeeded in having 95 WBF Member countries or regions out of a total of 140 coming to Beijing to participate in the World Mind Sports Games with

- 110 Youth teams competing in 3 categories under 21, under 26 and under 28

- 71 Open teams

- 54 Women’s teams

- 34 Senior teams.

And these numbers are, of course, a huge record due to the generosity of our sponsors, Air China and, of course, to the Board and Card Games Administrative Centre of the Ministry of Sports of China, the Municipality of Beijing, the North Star Group and all our partners in this event.

The World Mind Sport Games will benefit from a strong media coverage, not only in China and Asia thanks to the presence on site of CCTV, Beijing TV, and Phoenix TV, but also all over the world through the images being broadcast by international channels which will pick up the satellite signal, or for short programmes, from a server via FTP.
